Sandblasting propels fine abrasive material against the glass through a custom-cut photo mask, carving the design deeper into the surface of the glass. The result is a bolder, frostier, more tactile finish — you can feel the design under your fingertips. It creates striking contrast and a premium, handcrafted look, especially on larger design areas. Because each piece requires a photo mask and manual engraving, it's suited to bolder designs rather than very fine detail.

Best for detailed artwork at a lower price point.

Laser engraving uses a focused beam of light to etch your design directly into the glass surface. It produces a fine, precise engraving with a light frosted appearance — ideal for detailed artwork, small text, intricate logos, and fine linework. Because laser engraving is less manual than sandblasting, it’s a great fit for smaller budgets. The engraving is shallower than sandblasting, so the finish is subtle and refined rather than deeply textured.

How etching works: Our engraving process works like a stencil or silhouette — it etches a single tone into the glass. It cannot reproduce color, gradients, shading, or photographic detail. Bold, high-contrast designs with clean lines etch beautifully; soft or multi-tone images may not translate well to glass.

File requirements:

• Accepted formats: PDF, PNG, JPG, SVG, AI, EPS
• Maximum file size: 25MB
• Color mode: Black and white / single-tone (color files are accepted but will be converted to single-tone for etching)

What makes great artwork:

• Bold, clean lines with good contrast
• Simple shapes and clear silhouettes
• Text at a legible size with adequate spacing between letters
• Vector formats (SVG, AI, EPS) generally give the cleanest results, especially for logos and line art

What to avoid:

• Photographs with fine detail, shading, or gradients
• Very thin lines or small intricate details that may not etch clearly
• Low-resolution or pixelated raster images (JPG/PNG) — since there's no minimum resolution requirement, very small or heavily compressed files may not etch cleanly even though the system will accept them
