Most fish stick together. They swim in the same direction to keep safe and conserve their energy.
But if you look closely at our School of Fish design, you’ll notice something different: one little fish turns around and heads the opposite way. That detail is small on the glass, but it carries a BIG meaning.

Not Just a Design Choice
The School of Fish pattern wasn’t created to be clever or decorative for decoration’s sake. It was meant to say something! Life pushes us toward the current. We’re taught to follow the beaten path, do what’s expected, blend in. For a lot of people, that works just fine.
That single fish swimming against the group represents the people who stand out from the crowd. They follow their heart, even when it would be easier not to. These people swim against the current and move to the beat of their own drums.
The lone fish shows up on dinner tables, at small celebrations, and during slow evenings at home. More often than not, it sparks a conversation. Someone notices the fish going the wrong way and asks about it. That’s when the story starts.
A Different Way of Doing Things
Rolf Glass has always believed that everyday objects should feel personal... not mass-produced or disposable. We want you to reach for our glasses because they mean something to you, and we want them to live on in your bar or kitchen for a very long time.
Swimming against the current doesn’t mean swimming alone. The School of Fish design is about individuality, but it’s also about belonging to a community of people who value craftsmanship, meaning, and intention.
Cheers to all of the lone fish out there!
